What is Luck

My friend Ben is a serious player of blackjack. Hу always thinks of the game mathematics. He believes luck is a dirty word which shouldn’t be used among polite people. Having a bad day at the casino he resorts to this kind of word in a negative meaning and in a good day it has a positive one. My friend John is a player of poker. He thinks even a poor player may get "Lucky" once in a while. I consider Luck determines how the cards are being dealt and the knowledge does determine the way you play these cards to get the best results. Luck is the ebb and flow of negative and positive fluctuation. The right spectrum end is good luck and bad luck is the negative one.

In short Luck can be a great thing in determining if you lose or win. It’s concerning games with positive expectations and games with a big casino edge. Playing such games as Roulette or slots that have a high casino edge luck is the only method to win. Ultimately you’ll lose at this sort of games. The casinos can see the long run since they’re open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the math will be equal for them. However, if you’re an occasional caller to the casino it’s likely to have some term wins. It’s the reason why people like to return to the casinos. If each visit result were based firmly on math you wouldn’t ever win as there wouldn’t be any deviation from the lasting results. Nobody would play if it happened. If everybody knew he’d lose 5 cents on a dollar every time he bets a number playing roulette or pulled the slot handle it’d be rather stupid to simply hand money over.

For skill games such as poker, video poker or blackjack the factor of "Luck" will even off as you achieve the theoretical result referred to the long run. A lot of people wonder what makes up the long run at any rate. Is it a thousand hands or just two? There isn’t really any exact answer. Some chance gamblers maybe never play sufficient number of hands during all their life to reach lasting results.

It doesn't really mean that you needn't learn the appropriate strategy for such games. If you know that you are playing proper strategy it’ll help you to move towards the optimistic spectrum end. Merely to believe in luck isn’t sufficient to make your chances better. A sage once noted "Faith can move mountains, however, you’d better bring your spade and be ready to help by working." At the casino your spade is your knowledge that you play proper play.

Luck is responsible for the cards you get. Skill and knowledge determines the way you can play them. A lucky one finds a method to use his capabilities to just come out ahead. It’s accurate for casino games and it’s a factor for the life game as well.

All of us know somebody who is awfully lucky. Think about the luckiest man you know. You’ll discover that this person is often happy, easygoing and upbeat. He knows how to get the most of any situation. Then again think of somebody who constantly appears to have just bad luck. Do they grumble and complain all the time? The "Lucky" man is typically the person with the optimistic attitude.

Your attitude is likely to be able to change your luck. The person who turns an unfavorable situation into a benefit one is looked on lucky from time to time, when actually it was his attitude that caused the luck.

Here you can find a small exercise that you can do in order to try to change your own attitude and correspondingly your luck. When getting up in the morning, think of one of happiest things happened in your life. Perhaps you met a special person in your life or found a hot stock which tripled within a night. Maybe once you found yourself in "the right place just at the right time". Think about that event. If during a day things do not go just right think again about your last good fortune and do not get dispirited.

I can’t give you any guarantee that it’ll alter your luck right away, but being happy is certainly one of the lucky person’s traits.

So, remember: Luck comes and goes... and knowledge does stay forever.
