Roulette – introduction

Roulette first appeared in the 17th century, it is a game involving pure chance and filled with suspense. The players hoping for good luck wait cliff-hang for the wheel to stop and let the ball rolling around to stop on the number they have chosen.

The only one player’s desire is to predict the final place where the ball rest just as the wheel stops spinning. In the typical American roulette there are 36 numbers + zero and double-zero. You can place your wager on some definite number, or you can cover 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 12 and so on till 18 different numbers within one spin.

Here is the number of the bets available
Straight Up
It is a single-number wager, which includes zero and double-zero. Once the ball stops one the number you have chosen, than your wager pays 35 to 1.

Split Bet
It is a two-neighboring-numbers wager, placed on the line which divides two numbers. Once the ball stops at one of the numbers, then your bet will pay 17 to 1.

Street Bet
This one covers three numbers. The chip is usually placed on outer right bounder, right next to the line of these three numbers. Once the ball stops at one of these three numbers, than the street bet will pay 11 to 1.

Corner Bet
This type of bet usually covers 4 numbers. The chip is usually placed on the intersection point between these four numbers. Once the ball stops at one of these four numbers, than the corner bet will pay 8 to 1.

Five Bet
This type of bet usually covers: zero,double-zero,1,2,3. The chip is usually placed on outer right bounder just between double-zero and 3. Once the ball stops at one of these numbers, than this five bet will pay 6 to 1.

Line Bet
This type of bet usually covers any 6 numbers in each 3 numbers divided into 2 lines. For instance: 4,5,6 and 7,8,9. The chip is usually placed on outer right bounder, on the intersection point between the two lines. Once the ball stops at any of these six numbers, your line bet will pay 5 to 1.

Column Bet
There are three boxes which are marked "2 to 1". Excluding zero and double-zero, all twelve numbers are marked above the chip which is placed in one of the boxes mentioned. Once the ball stops at any of these numbers, your bet will pay 2 to 1.

Dozen Bet
It is a 12-numbers bet, the chip is placed in one of three boxes which are marked "1st 12," "2nd 12," and "3rd 12". Once the ball stops at any of these numbers, the dozen bet will pay 2 to 1.

Red or Black, Even or Odd, Low or High Bets
The bet which is placed on the left side in one of the boxes covers half of all the numbers (excluding 0 and 00) of the roulette. In this case the winning payment is 1 to 1.
