Baccarat – introduction

One of the most preferable and frequently played games for the gamblers has long been baccarat, so, even low-bankroll-players have also joined the game. The rules are very easy and to master them is the work of a moment.

The main goal in the game is to foresee whose hand will win - either the banker’s one, or the player’s one, or finally the game will finish in a tie.

Before the cards are dealt the bets should be placed in advance. And both for the banker and for the player the hands are formed automatically. Summing up the values of the individual cards the value of the whole hand is estimated. Face value cards and tens are equal to zero, and numerical cards are valued correspondingly to their face number. Having summed up the total value, the player can use only the last digit. Thus, all baccarat hands have value from zero to 9. That one which has the higher value finally wins. In the case with the same value in both hands the game ends in a tie. Both the player and the banker are initially dealt two cards. With the initial cards totaling 8 or 9, the hand will be called a “natural”. If it is impossible, there are so-called baccarat "third card rules", which determine, whether the hand should get an extra card or not.

The winning bets on the hand of a player are paid usually at 1:1 odds. Generally the commission on winnings can be charged only of the banker bets, the odds are 1:1 (taking out the percentage commission). On a tie the odds are: 8:1. If the game ends in a tie, then all the bets of the player and of the banker get returned.
