Aces and Faces is very similar to the standard Jacks or Better video poker game. The only differences are in the pay out tables. The game is played with a standard 52 card deck and the player is dealt 5 cards of which he can choose to hold or draw any number of the cards or none at all.

As you can see in the payout table there's extra payouts for Four of Kind Aces which pays 80 credits and then Four of a Kind for the face cards Jacks, Queens and Kings which payout of 40 credits. The 4 of a Kind 2's - T's pays 25 credits which is the same for all Four a Kinds in the standard Jacks or Better. Where the pay outs are lower as compared to Jacks or Better are with the Full House and Flushes which pay 8 and 5 -1 respectively compared to 9 and 6 - 1 in Jacks or Better.

Because of the higher payouts at the top of the table and lower for the more commonly hit hands the full house and flushes its makes for slightly more variance.

Aces and Faces Video Poker Strategy

With the extra payouts for the Four of a Kind Aces and Face hands your strategy should be geared a little more to hitting these hands.

Don't break up a paying hand unless you only need 1 card to complete a Royal Flush.

Non paying hands you should hold:

4 cards to a royal flush

4 cards to a straight flush

3 cards to a royal flush

4 cards to a flush

Any pair under a Jack

4 cards to an outside straight

2 suited high cards

3 cards to a straight flush

2 unsuited high cards (if more than 2 choose the 2 lower ones).

Suited high cards 10-J, 10-Q, 10-K

A card Jack or better
